The Final Note – Issue #8

Craig Anderton [February, 2013]: Craig was just interviewed in the last issue of One Louder Magazine, but he’s got a new gig…and a pretty sweet one at that! He joined the team at Gibson Guitars as Executive Vice President, Evangelist in late February, 2013. I asked him if he would be trading in his PRS for a Gold Top, he laughed and stated that “No guitar ever subtracts. They just add.” I couldn’t agree more!

Mat Mitchell and his merry band mates in Puscifer [October, 2011] played a couple of sets at Coachella recently.

Andy ‘A&R at SRO/Anthem’ Curran [June, 2011]: It only took ~45 years, 24 gold records, 14 platinum records and an estimated 40 million albums sold worldwide, but RUSH was finally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 18th, 2013. Andy had this to say about it: “There was a ton of prep work leading up to the ceremony, so it was a little stressful for all of us at SRO Anthem…and the band, but after all was said and done, I can tell you [that] everyone across the board were pretty overwhelmed with the fan support that made their presence known in LA. They were VERY vocal and it was like an unruly mob that showed up…pissed off that it took so long….but standing behind their band…tall & loud. It was so great!! Also, getting a close-up view of Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins confirmed what I’d heard about them. Both guys are class acts, down to earth, funny and just two of the coolest guys I’ve met in a very long time. I think that  moment when you see all the faces and hear the names announced of who had been previously inducted, you realize “Wow, this really IS an honor.” The guys in the band felt that too, and being a kid from Mississauga, Ontario, who grew up weaned on Rush, saw them record All the Worlds a Stage at Massey Hall and then…… to be included on that night as part of their team, just crazy! I could never have imagined that in a million years. I was so proud of the band, Ray Danniels & Pegi Cecconi on what they stand for and what they built. What a ride.”

Bryan ‘Red Fang’ Giles [October, 2010]: Bryan and the boys shared the stage with Metallica at Australia’s Soundwave Festival a couple of months ago, but now they’re headed to Europe for a Summer tour, including a couple of shows with Iron Maiden!
